Its Myth that Lightning is associated to Witchcraft
In memory of the 10 children who were struck Dead by Lightning in Arua.
Josephine Angucia, the police spokesperson for West Nile confirmed the incident where 10 boys aged between 11 and 16 years were killed by lightning at a football pitch near Odramacaku trading centre in Arua City.The lightning incident occurred at about 6PM on Thursday when the children took shelter from rain in a grass thatched structure next to a football pitch.The boys bodies were taken to Arua hospital for postmortem.

My society where i come from has always associated Lighting to Witchcraft ,its very rare for them to witness the earthing of Lightning happen.
When it happens;we (i)because i am inclusive of the society i live in say that “someone has bewitched him and sent lightning to strike him/her dead “

But that is not the case,as we all know is that Lightning is a natural Disaster that occurs like any natural catastrophe.
Lightning is an electrical discharge caused by imbalances between storm clouds and the ground,or within the clouds themselves. Most lightning occurs within the clouds.

It’s a natural Disaster that once it occurs in its line of movement,any living this within its line of earthing have less chances of survival. There are various ways lighting occur either within the earth or clouds.
According to National Geographics; they describe Sheet Lightning as a distant bolt that lights up an entire cloud base. Other visible bolts may appear as bead, ribbon, or rocket lightning.

During a storm, colliding particles of rain, ice, or snow inside storm clouds increase the imbalance between storm clouds and the ground, and often negatively charge the lower reaches of storm clouds(National Geographic) Objects on the ground, like steeples, trees, and the Earth itself, become positively charged—creating an imbalance that nature seeks to remedy by passing current between the two charges
National Geographics says that Lightning is extremely hot—a flash can heat the air around it to temperatures five times hotter than the sun’s surface. This heat causes surrounding air to rapidly expand and vibrate, which creates the pealing thunder we hear a short time after seeing a lightning flash.
Always be cautious when it’s drizzling or raining,don’t stand under any tree or walk under rain,its dangerous.
